EXPERIENCE THE 'CARE' DIFFERENCE

CARE Dance Festival was proudly founded in 2023 by experienced dance educators who wanted to make an  impact on the competitive dance experience primarily for small studios, Novice and Part-Time dancers with 1-2 day weekend events.  

We believe dance is more than a number on a page and that is why we designed our unique I CARE Marking System. Instead of traditional scores and overall placements, dancers receive a rank and a beautiful corresponding medal that reflects the overall impact of their performance, including technical execution, performance quality, artistry, and how they inspire, create, and connect through movement. Dancers do not compete against each other. They compete for the I CARE marking system with experienced adjudicators who understand young dancers journeys from the classroom to the stage.

Because our focus is on growth and artistry rather than comparison, we do not offer overall awards. Instead, dancers are recognized through performance awards, special awards, and scholarships that honours the performance experience and rewards achievement through the I CARE marking system. This system rewards dancers for the quality of their performance, not their placement against others.

Our judges are a key part of what makes CARE different. They are active dance educators with extensive experience teaching, training, and adjudicating. They specifically train students in a studio setting teaching recreational and part-time programs.  They understand the dancer journey from studio classroom training and rehearsals to waiting in the wings and performing on stage. 

We are proud to offer an environment that uplifts dancers and values the heart behind every performance. When dancers feel seen and celebrated, they rise.
